Experience with Hospital-Based Surveillance for Adverse Drug Reactions in India

Dr. Parthasarathi completed his M.Pharm in Pharmacology from Govt. College of Pharmacy, Bangalore, his Masters Degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of South Australia and his Ph.D. in from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.  He introduced clinical pharmacy practice and education at JSS Hospital, Mysore, where he serves as head of their Department of Clinical Pharmacy. He is the recipient of numerous awards and is an elected member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology.  His research includes establishing adverse drug reactions reporting systems in four teaching hospitals in the state of Karnataka and other pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance studies.  In 2012, he was instrumental in organizing the 7th Asian Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology, held in Bangalore, India.
